First Days Fun

Bringing home a baby was not only an adjustment for me and Chris but also for our furry baby, Squirt.  Squirt was immediately very curious of Tucker and instantly became protective of her.  She would not leave Tucker's side.  Here are some pictures of their first meeting...

They will be best friends one day.

2 day old Tucker toes :)

3 days old...such a sweet face

Tucker on a milk high
5 days old...one of his first real big smiles (of course I had to tickle his cheek to get him to do it)

Gangsta Baby

Decked out for Tucker's first doctor's appointment.
6 days old

Sweet face on the way to the doctor.

One of my favorite things to do on maternity leave was just hang out with my little man.
The best days of my life.

Snoozing baby...it doesn't get much better than this.

Sleeping on MeMe

The first week at home with our new family was a great one.  It is hard to believe how natural and routine everything already feels.  The transition into parenthood has been as smooth for our family as anyone could ask for.  I really enjoyed having Chris home during this first week.  We enjoyed some great visitors and shared some great family time with our newest addition.  Tucker's first week of existence is one that will always be so special.  The first days of being a parent and holding and taking care of a human being that you helped to create is something no words can describe.  I'll end this post with one question: "How can you not believe in God when you see a baby He has created in His image with such innocence and perfection?" Thank you Lord for my gift...my son.

Homeward Bound

It is the last day in the hospital and we are finally going home with our little man. There is no turning back now! We spent the morning getting last minute details situated with hospital, gathering our belongings, and waiting to be discharged.  I remember being so nervous to fill out Tucker's birth certificate correctly that I wrote his first name as Jackson instead of Tucker.  It was quite a walk of shame to the nurses station to ask for another blank birth certificate form!

Tucker sporting his Upstate Maverick gear for the big ride home.

Taking some pictures with my little man before we head home.

Family Photo.

Lovin' on Tucker.

Wrapped up and ready to go!

Walking to the car!

Strapping Tucker in his carseat for the first time.

He looks so little.

Ready to go home!

On our way!

I will never forget that overwhelming feeling of excitement and emotion as we loaded up the car to take our son home.  I think I had tears in my eyes the whole ride home.  It was hard to believe it was really happening.  The last time I was in the car it was just me and Chris.  Now we were a family of three and I couldn't be happier and feel more blessed.

And so our new life feels like it has officially begun as we start to settle into our home with our newest addition...Tucker Jackson Nall.

A Natural for the Camera

The hospital had a photographer who came around the take pictures of all the newborns.  She tried getting some of Tucker just in his diaper, but little man would have none of it.  He was so cold and could not go without clothes or he would start screaming.  So we slapped some Baby Armour on him and got some great pictures anyways!

In daddy's hand.
So tiny.

If this does not melt your heart I don't know what will!
Daddy loves his little man so much!

Yes, our two day old son has on sweat bands and Under Armour.

I am so glad we paid the outrageous prices for these sweet pictures.  It is so special to have such great pictures of Tucker when he was only two days old.  He changed so fast and it meant a lot to capture what he looked liked fresh out of the oven!

Day Two of Life on the Outside

Tucker's first night was great.  The whole thing seemed so surreal.  So much so that Chris had no idea what was going on when the nurse brought Tucker into our room for the first time to feed him during the night.  The nurse came in our room flipped on the lights and said she was there for me to nurse Tucker.  As I proceeded to get situated Chris rolls over and says "Tucker who? What? Who are we feeding?" If I had something to throw at him I would have.  I was scared the nurse was not going to leave Tucker with us because she thought I had some crazy person in the room with me.  It was hilarious. And he will never live that moment down. The moment that tiredness and delirium got the best of him!

The second day at the hospital Tucker had some more visitors come to see him and the new parents had lots of lovin' to do on their new bundle of joy!

Aunt Kathy came back to visit.

So did Nana.

I was so excited for one of my besties, Ashley Crocker, from work to come meet Tucker.
It sure meant a lot to both me and Tucker!

She brought a sign that her class made for Tucker.
Each student wrote their names in little baseballs along the bottom. (It is kind of hard to see in this picture)
All the students from school were just as excited for Tucker's arrival as everyone else.

Spending some time with my little man in between visitors.

I loved playing with little Tucker toes.

Teeny Feet.

In heaven with my little man in my arms.

My pride and joy.
Still not believing it is real.

It was so special having my sister there with me through it all.
We have a picture just like this with Riley when she was born.

Daddy changing his first diaper ever.
His first of many!

Riley was so excited to finally meet baby Tucker.
She could not wait to hold him!

These two will become best buds!
She already loves him so much.

Friend and neighbors Kristen and Jeff came to see Tucker!

Day Two of parenthood was amazing.  It was still hard to believe the time was finally here to be a parent for the rest of our lives.  We knew the time in the hospital was coming to an end soon and felt an overwhelmed yet excited feeling of taking on the challenge of taking care of Tucker on our own.  I remember we kept asking the nurses how much it would cost to just stay there for several more months and get 24 hour help and advice as we needed it! Of course our request was denied, and ready or not we were going home the next day!

Tucker's first day was a big one.  He met lots of family who was excited for his long awaited arrival.  It was a day that he may not remember but many of his loved ones will never forget.
