Looking Back...

Taking a look back at what brought me the most rewarding thing in my life...
A long 9 months toward the birth of our little pride and joy.
It was a smooth pregnancy in medical terms...but I definitely felt high levels of discomfort and had my fair share of pregnancy pains.
Here is a look back at some pregnancy perks I posted on Facebook around the 7 month mark to take a light hearted attitude on what I was really feeling...

Pregnancy Perk #1: Food tastes so freakin good right now. Im currently having eaters remorse for what I just consumed at dinner because I just could not say no......

Pregnancy Perk #2: After stuffing your face with the food that tastes the best ever...you don't have to worry about sucking in your stomach because this large belly ain't going anywhere but bigger for awhile....

Pregnancy Perk #3: A legit excuse for buying new clothes because of the legit weight you have gained....

Pregnancy Perk #4: What other time in your life can you gain 30 plus pounds and have complete strangers stop and tell you how cute you look....

Pregnancy Perk #5: It is just not as fun drawing the faces of your future child on a nonpregnant belly....

Pregnancy Perk #6: You will never again have as good of an excuse to sleep in as long as you want....gotta do it while a girl can!

Pregnancy Perk #7: It is fun to discover the new ways your body can sweat... sense my sarcaism as I melt at Chris's ball game!

Pregnancy Perk #8: Between the oversized belly and the 5 pillows you have to sleep with...there is finally a chance at winning the battle of taking up all of your spouse's side of the bed...

Pregnancy Perk #9: Never again will it be so easy to feel like you are getting a hardcore work out.  These days... just walking upstairs with the 30 plus lbs I'm sporting gets me out of breath and has my legs feeling like I just ran 5 miles...

Pregnancy Perk # 10: How cool is it to watch from the outside your child moving in your stomach. I get the most joy by imagining what position he is in and what exactly he is doing to cause all the movement. Sometimes I grab whatever is sticking out and think about what it will be like to get to play with him soon! Priceless childbearing moments!

Pregnancy Perk #11: "O hunny, I can't reach my toe nails to paint them so I am going to need pedicures from here on out! ;) "

Pregnancy Perk # 12: The urge to clean every nook and cranny in the house right now is a good thing due to the fact that in a few weeks I won't have time to sleep or eat...let alone think about house work....

Pregnancy Perk #13: When your pup needs a bath, but your belly is too big to lean over a tub...you have a legit reason to have a playmate in the bath with you! (don't judge)

Pregnancy Perk #14: There are not many chances in a person's life to celebrate something so special with SO MANY of your closest friends and family all at one time.  Still so thankful to see everyone at my shower yesterday and all the great goodies Baby Nallstar got!

While Daddy Is Away

During maternity leave I enjoyed sending pictures from my phone to Chris of Tucker...It was a chance for daddy to see his little man while he had to be away at work.
Here are some of the pictures I sent...

Snuggled under his blanket.

"What up?"
Sporting his Baby Armour.

Cutie Patootie.

That face cracks me up.
He is already practicing how to look "cool" in pictures.

There's the little smile I love.

Clinging to his momma and making her feel like the luckiest mommy alive.

Such a little man.

I absolutely soaked up these days at home with my little man.  My time left of maternity leave went by so quickly. I love this guy so much I could hold him all day everyday...but unfortunately I am not sure how practical that really is.  So instead...I promise to cherish every moment with him I can and take as many pictures of him as I can.

Look What I Can Do!

From the very beginning Tucker has been a very alert baby and very strong.  He was holding his head up in someone's arms at 2 days old.  Then at 5 weeks old he was steadily holding his head up during tummy time.  I just love watching and witnessing all of Tucker's milestones and the new things he learns to do everyday.

5 Weeks old
And making me one proud momma!

At 6 weeks old Tucker decided he wasn't happy just playing in one place anymore.  Before this picture was taken he was in the middle of the mat and facing a completely different direction. I think we have our hands full!

Only a few moments later...now look where he is at.
I think we need a bigger playmat.

A Few Firsts

The firsts of many in Tucker's life...

Tucker at 3 weeks old.
Each month I will take Tucker's picture in his baseball chair.
I didn't get one when we first got home from the hospital, but this is his first of many pictures in this spot.

Squirt...a.k.a. Monster Dog...wanted in on the pictures.

Playing on the floor.

He discovered himself in the mirror.
Getting cocky already ;)

3 weeks old.
First walk in the stroller.
He loved it!

3 weeks old
He also loved his first time in his swing.

Such a big boy...he loves to lift up his head.

Tucker had a big day.  He is enjoying a nap on daddy.

Gotta love a naked baby booty.

The first of many Sunday Night Football games with dad.

The first of many play dates with Squirt.

It is the biggest blessing to see your child grow and learn.  Everyday I am amazed at how much Tucker is learning and at all the new things he can do.  I look forward to being there for many more "firsts" as Tucker grows up.  I just wish it would all slow down a little bit!

Special Visitors

Tucker's Great-Grandparents (Chris's grandparents) came into town to meet Tucker for the first time.  It was a very special visit and one that I will never forget.  Chris's grandmother held Tucker the whole time. You could tell she was on cloud-nine.  I don't know who was more moved by it...me or her.  She said it felt so much like when she held Chris at that age.  They are special people in our lives and will be to Tucker as well.

 Special Moment.

Tucker loves to snuggle with his Grandma.

Grandpa holding Tucker for the first time.

 She loves him so much.

Tucker is smiling...he loves her very much.

 Sweetness.

A priceless pic...
